Alyssa Heagy
Executive Director
Alyssa brings a passion for community development and a strong track record of nonprofit leadership to her role as Executive Director of NextPoint Home Development. With extensive experience in strategic planning, fundraising, and regulatory compliance, Alyssa leads NextPoint’s efforts to expand housing opportunities and support services across Central Nebraska.
She holds a Master of Legal Studies, summa cum laude, from Trinity International University – School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Eastern Washington University. Her professional background includes leadership roles in affordable housing, behavioral healthcare, and community outreach. Throughout her career, Alyssa has strengthened partnerships, secured funding, and guided organizations through sustainable growth.
Alyssa is also an active community leader, currently serving on the Board of Directors at Willow Rising and participating in local initiatives like the Hall County HELP Initiative, Grand Island Insight Sessions, . Her commitment to collaboration and equity drives her work to create lasting, positive change in the communities NextPoint serves.
Jami Tomlin
Operations & Outreach Coordinator
Jami brings a strong background in nonprofit communications, community engagement, and organizational support to her role as Operations & Outreach Coordinator for NextPoint Home Development. With experience in strategic communication, program coordination, and stakeholder outreach, Jami helps advance NextPoint’s mission by strengthening partnerships, elevating awareness, and supporting the systems that expand housing opportunities across Central Nebraska.
Her professional expertise includes communications strategy, public engagement, project coordination, process development, and digital marketing—skills she has used throughout her career to increase visibility, build trust, and support sustainable organizational growth. Jami’s work is rooted in a commitment to clarity, collaboration, and helping individuals and families understand the resources available to create stable housing futures.
Jami is also an active community leader, serving on the Board of Directors at Revive, Inc., where she supports efforts to provide recovery-focused services that strengthen long-term stability for individuals and families. Her passion for community connection and mission-driven work continues to guide her role in advancing NextPoint’s impact across the region.
Christy Marino
Finance Director
Christy brings deep expertise in financial management, organizational accounting, and operational systems to her role as Finance Director for NextPoint Home Development. With more than a decade of bookkeeping and accounting experience—and certification through the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program—Christy ensures that NextPoint operates with accuracy, transparency, and strong fiscal stewardship.
Before joining NextPoint, Christy spent five years providing accounting services to multiple clients through Efficiency Counts, Inc., later launching her own business, Marino Solutions, in 2020. Her background supporting diverse organizations has strengthened her ability to manage complex financial processes, streamline systems, and provide clear, reliable guidance that supports long-term sustainability.
Christy’s commitment to both people and precision sets her apart. She is known for her approachable style, collaborative problem-solving, and the care she brings to every partnership. These qualities continue to guide her work at NextPoint, where she helps maintain the financial stability that makes expanded housing opportunities possible.
Her dedication to integrity, service, and mission-driven work supports NextPoint’s continued growth and strengthens the impact of housing initiatives across Central Nebraska.
